Hello, Heartbeats! This week’s collective tarot and oracle reading augurs change, focusing on the completion of a cycle, and stressing the importance of personal choices in directing the trajectory of a fresh start. For this reading, I used the beautiful Spiritsong Tarot, the deck of the month of May here on Alteressence, and three additional oracle decks – all decks are listed at the bottom of this post. For now, let’s refresh our approach to change. πππ³
There’s a strong emphasis on ending cycles in this week’s reading. All three tarot cards speak about change in one way or another. The Ten of Feathers/Swords is the dawn after the demise of your old self, the snake that has shed its skin. The Wheel (of Fortune) is the essence of change, the continual movement that is life. The World speaks about the completion of a broad cycle; it evokes going full circle and having your initial perspective changed by the complex experience of the journey.
In a collective reading, this sequence of cards suggests, at least to me, a shift in focus from our personal losses and defeats to large-scale transformation. It just got to that point where everyone, the world, has changed perspective. Last year, it was more about doing our best in new circumstances, under limitations and pressure. But this year, the novelty element of the global situation has worn off, data of all kinds accumulated, and our perspectives adjusted accordingly. There was a line drawn in the history of the world, and we’re only beginning to see what the next cycle will look like and actually be like for humanity. The world cannot be kept at a standstill. The world will move; it moves all the time. Life is movement, change is inevitable. π±
The oracle cards in this reading develop a really positive and empowering message.
The Potential Gateway reminds us that, with every new beginning, we have the opportunity to make things right, to learn from our past mistakes and suffering, and plant the seeds of the lessons we’ve learned. But, of course, things can go in any direction.
The New Moon in Virgo suggests we take the route of practical solidarity. This is not declarative, sentimental solidarity, nor is it solidarity in suffering and sacrifice. What I mean by “practical solidarity” is doing your own part, making your own individual contribution to the general well-being of your community and the world at large. Virgo is about modesty, routines, work. It represents the application of your resources to do an actual job, before you are compensated, with the sole ambition of doing that job well. It’s the energy of being so busy doing something useful, that you just don’t have resources for wallowing in thought or emotions. Moreover, your thoughts and emotions get to be used in the process of work and service. Practical goals, mundane repetitive tasks, cleaning, healing – a little less ego, a little more industriousness for the sake of the general collective good.
The Positivity card encourages us to count our blessings, especially the small ones that made the direst of our situations bearable. Just like each individual can contribute with the little he/she has, our positive thoughts can uplift, one by one, the whole collective.
All this being said, keep up to the rhythm of love, I’m leaving you with the beautiful words on the Positivity card:
“If you can find even one thing to be grateful for, it will restore you to the Light. Please, dear God, let me always feel gratitude for something, even a tiny thing, in even the hardest situations.”
