Hello, Heartbeats! February is kicking off full of emotion, and it’s up to each one of us to use that emotional charge wisely. For this general tarot reading, I have used two decks: the Tarot of the Golden Wheel (which is also the deck of the month here on Alteressence.com) and the Moonology oracle. Let’s see what’s cooking! ππ¦
The Cancerian vibes are strong this week, but we’ll get deeper into that a little bit later. Let’s look into the tarot first.
The Chariot is a force that moves you, it is drive and determination. It’s not helping your legs move faster or not tire with effort, it simply sweeps you away just as you are. You can be in charge of the Chariot or not, it moves anyway. In the position of passing influences, it suggests that major changes have already been set in motion, and regardless of understanding or agreeing to them, we all have to process our feelings about them, finding a way to adapt to the new circumstances. With the Chariot, the scenery changes, but you don’t, unless you (willingly or not) choose to do so. The Chariot is also associated with Cancer, and just like this zodiac sign, although it implies a new start, it emphasizes preservation more than transformation, suggesting empowered resilience.
Enter the Queen of Wands, a creative fire sipping fuel. (πΉ Cheers!) This queen shares the determination and the strong will of the Chariot, but, being the confident creatrix that she is, she wants to make something out of that powerful energy, ideally amplifying it. The Chariot is about harnessing, the Queen of Wands is about expanding. And here we are in the first days of February, trying to make the best of whatever conditions we find ourselves in. Ideally, we’ll focus on generosity, joy, positivity, directing our energy and passion toward helping others, understanding that being part of a thriving community means helping it thrive. On the flip side, Queen of Wands energy can translate into blind selfishness, as destructive and merciless as fire itself. What will manifest for each person depends very much on how the individual deals with their own emotions.
As the weekend approaches, things seem to cool down. The Chariot torrent meets the fiery Wands, and the result is air, freezing cold air. You may feel the desire to communicate something, a clear realization you may have this week. The Page of Swords may also consequently indicate a fresh plan and/or intention.
Now, back to the Cancerian vibes I was mentioning in the beginning. For this reading I drew two oracle cards from the Moonology deck as guidance. The first one is the Full Moon in Cancer, and the second one is the Blue Moon.
The Moon rules the astrological sign of Cancer, so a Full Moon in Cancer is at the peak of its characteristics: emotional, fluctuating, indirect, yet it has a strong presence. With this particular full moon, you may process high levels of emotion individually, with no need or wish to share this inner ride. Cancer is emotional, but that emotion is usually brewing inside its tough shell. In the context of this reading, pay attention to your emotions this week and don’t try to repress or tame them. Allow them to develop and try to understand what they are pointing to. Choose to nurture those emotions that serve you and nurture you back.
The Blue Moon, apart from bringing its own particularities to the reading, also points back to the literally blue card of the Full Moon in Cancer. If you look closely, you can see short messages on the cards: “A personal issue reaches resolution” and “Believe in the impossible”. A blue moon is fairly rare, and so is truly sorting out emotionally charged personal issues. Maybe you thought some situation was impossible to solve. With a creative approach and, who knows, maybe a touch of magic, you can use your emotions to your advantage and reach a resolution, a point of inner clarity that honors your true self, your needs and desires.
This week, make sure you use your emotions for the best – amplify the constructive ones, and transmute the lower vibrations. Maybe you’ll want to assert certain boundaries, maybe you’ll give or receive closure, or maybe you’ll simply want to share your intentions or to start making a plan, but listen to your heart before you do any of that. Whatever you decide to create and/or communicate, make sure your the end-result is personal resolution, peace, and a sense at feeling at home in your own life.
